Events a la carte.
Depending on the needs of the community, Friends with Benefits hosts events to raise funds or awareness for important causes. Below are promotional materials created for several of these initiatives.
Denton is officially recognized as the Halloween Capital of Texas. In 2025, a local artist designed a mascot to celebrate this spirited honor, and the city invited residents to name it. True to Denton’s quirky charm, the winning name was “Onion.” Inspired by the fun, Friends with Benefits joined in the spirit of the season by hosting a food drive for Denton County Friends of the Family, helping to kickstart their Thanksgiving meal program for clients in need.
In 2021, Mindy declared 2022 "The Year of Lisa Frank" to try to bring light into the board's spirits after the COVID pandemic.
As true pizza lovers, Friends with Benefits partnered with a local brewery to host a community pizza party — a fun, laid-back event that raised funds to support the organization’s mission.

Friends with Benefits covers birthday parties for Cumberland Family Services. FWB had a fundraiser called the "Unbirthday Party" with a Disney cover band, cupcakes, hotdogs and a special event cocktail.
A local organization reached out to Friends with Benefits for help collecting holiday gift donations for their community “store,” where families in need can shop for presents. Around the same time, a few locals at The Bearded Monk — a beloved craft beer spot — came up with an oddly addicting cone-toss game. Friends with Benefits turned the idea into a full-fledged tournament, where each team’s entry fee was a new, unwrapped toy for the store. The grand prize? The Golden Cone — a simple traffic cone, spray-painted gold, and proudly claimed by the winners.

Friends with Benefits works year-round to help combat food insecurity. One of their fundraisers, Hip Hop for the Hungry, featured regional hip-hop artists and raised funds to ensure local students had access to school lunch programs.
Summers in Texas can be brutal. A local organization, Denton Water Project, asked for water donations to stock coolers placed throughout the city. Volunteers refill the coolers multiple times a day, every day, ensuring the community stays hydrated during the hottest months.
After a beloved event concluded its 25-year run, the organizers approached Friends with Benefits with the opportunity to bring the Crawfish Boil back to life.
Denton non-profits Greater Denton Arts Council and Friends with Benefits teamed up to create a special art show called Open HeARTS, featuring 2D artworks by local artists with disabilities.
